A bit about your trainer:
Alison works as a Personal Trainer and Registered Nurse. She is married to Rick and they have 2 children, Isaac 15 yrs and Keziah 12 yrs. In 2007, at 34 yrs, she was diagnosed with insulin resistance (pre diabetes) and weighed over 120kgs. She struggled to lose weight and tried many different diets over most of her life. She was put on diabetes medication and weight loss tablets, but neither really helped. Her main issues were that she was ‘addicted’ to food, and just loved to eat even when she wasn’t hungry. Food was her comfort and emotional support for every problem. Exercise was pretty nonexistent in her life, and she would have every excuse for why it was never a priority in her life. In 2009, at 36 yrs, she decided that she was not ‘content’ with being in the morbidly obese range with a BMI of 43, being on medication and feeling tired and unwell all the time, so she started her journey to better health. Today she is over 40kgs lighter than the previous person in 2007, full of life and energy and a qualified PT with The Australian Institute of Fitness. She regularly completes running, triathlon and endurance events, as well as being a great role model for her own family, friends and clients. There are many aspects to her journey, that she would be more than happy to share with you over a cuppa, too many to list here. She has a detailed understanding of where you are at, how hard it can be, and the struggles you have. Best of all – all those excuses you come up with for not exercising or eating that extra piece of cake, she knows them all plus more.
